NEW BREAD MAKER IS A COOL NEW TOOL

This is my new Cuisinart bread maker -- and it makes more than bread. The apples below are ready to go into the bread maker. In about an hour and a half we had some OUTSTANDING natural applesauce. It also makes cranberry sauce, jam and chutneys.

Some of the things I love to learn about

* Other cultures and languages. Languages I am studying are Italian, French and American Sign Language. (ASL) I eventually would like to learn Spanish and German as well. My goal is to know at least the polite words, shopping words, food words and other necessary phrases and words to get through most of Europe. I don't want to be one of those people who just EXPECTS the folks of the country I am visiting to speak English.

* Wine. I am learning about kinds of wine, which wines to have with which foods and cooking with wine.

* Cooking with spices and herbs I'm not used to cooking with. I love finding new recipes for the same old food.

* Gardening. I've been growing herbs for years now and this past summer, 2008, we had our first veggie garden. Keith is an expert gardener--so we had a good teacher to learn more about gardening from.

*Art. I have discovered that I really like impressionism. Monet, Renoir and Cassett are my favorites.

* New crafty projects. I love to flip through crafty magazines and find new projects I can do. Or, find new ways to use old talents such as crochet, cross-stitch and sewing.

* School. Slowly I am working on finishing my degree. I have been taking online courses for years. I love to learn.

* Writing. I love to take writing workshops and classes. I read all I can from the experts in an attempt to perfect my skills.
